Lecturers
Sayarma Dr. Thiri Dawei Aung
Dr. Thiri Dae We Aung is Burmese Ornithologist and presently serves as Executive Director in Biodiversity And Nature Conservation Association (BANCA). She has more than 8 years of experience working in research and conservation of bird species and their natural habitat, wetland conservations with Universities mainly Yangon University and Mandalay University, NGO/INGOs, governments and local communities. She has been working on conservation of migratory bird species Spoon-billed Sandpiper in Gulf of Mottama and Nanthar Island, Rakhine State, Baer’s Pochard in central Myanmar. She is also working for Vulture conservation in Myanmar as chair of Myanmar Vulture Working Group. She has effectively contributed to updating checklist of bird species in Myanmar with Myanmar Bird and Nature Society (MBNS) and sharing the updating information of important bird species and sites to BirdLife International and International and Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). She is one of the editor members of” Shwe Phoe Kaung “ bird and nature conservation magazine and Myanmar National Geographic. She graduated with a Ph. D in Zoology from Yangon University, Myanmar.
